UNIT 2: FRIENDS FOR LIFE? (4th ESO)

This unit is all about FRIENDS. Maybe this topic will remind you of the famous TV series... Why don't you relax yourselves for a while and enjoy some of the best moments in the series?

Now it's time to work! You can start by revising the vocabulary related to FRIENDS AND ACQUAINTANCES:

We also worked with INDEFINITE PRONOUNS. Just click on the words to have access to more practice.

Then we studied RELATIVE CLAUSES. We started with DEFINING RELATIVE CLAUSES. Do you need further practice? You can try these activities:

We continued with NON-DEFINING RELATIVE CLAUSES. Again, here you have some more practice:

Tired? Need some fun? Test yourself with this

If there is one thing friends do is do things together. That is the next vocabulary to practise and you can do so with this Quizlet:

Pronouns are very useful to avoid repetition, so studying REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS is a must, and practising them too!

Prefer a GAME? Hope you are good at bowling...

We also studied EACH OTHER, so that you don't confuse it with reflexive pronouns.

You can test yourselves again with this:

We also studied how to write AN EMAIL ABOUT A PROBLEM. You can check this website for more tips:

UNIT 2: LOVE TO LEARN! (3rd ESO)

Do you? We all probably love to learn new things, which doesn't imply we love taking exams, does it?

This unit is all about learning, so we'll try to help you with some extra practice here.

Skills and abilities: with this activity you can practise the vocabulary studied.

Then we studied the PRESENT PERFECT TENSE. Here you have loads of practice:

PRESENT PERFECT

WITH EVER and NEVER

WITH FOR and SINCE

WITH JUST, ALREADY, and YET

Using adequate LEARNING TECHNIQUES will certainly help you in the process. Here you have some FLASHCARDS to revise the ones studied.

Time to contrast the PAST SIMPLE and the PRESENT PERFECT tenses. Need further practice?

EXERCISE 1

EXERCISE 2

EXERCISE 3

EXERCISE 4

Need a break? Why don't you try this game?

Hope all these activities help you learn lots of English!

UNIT 2: THEN AND NOW (2nd ESO)

Do you like history and learning about the past? Then you will be a fan of museums. Before you start working, take some time to explore the fascinating British Museum:

This unit is about contrasting the past with the present. As always, we start studying some new vocabulary: EVERYDAY OBJECTS. Try this matching activity to revise it:

In the reading, we learn about how The Aztecs, one of the most ancient civilizations in the world, changed the world. If you are curious and want to learn more about them, we have the perfect video for you:

Now, you should take some time to revise the PAST of the verb TO BE and THERE WAS/THERE WERE. Here you have some practice:

You can also test yourselves with this

You need to revise or study the modal verb COULD, to talk about past abilities. Just click on the word to see how it works and do some practice.

When talking about the past, PAST TIME EXPRESSIONS are essential, try this EXERCISE to practise them.

The next step is to learn about LIFE EVENTS. If you can answer this QUIZ, it means you have no problems with this vocabulary 😉!

Time to learn the PAST SIMPLE and practise it:

Want to practise it in a more fun way? Try this game, it's an escape room activity and in a museum!! Just click on the picture to start the adventure...

Finally, we studied how to talk about past habits and states, with USED TO. Again a game can help you practise it but in a fun way:

The writing of the unit is AN EMAIL TO AN E-PAL. You can find some more tips here:

That was a lot of work, wasn't it? Here you have another game (and related to the past) to keep practising your English and to have fun at the same time 😉:
