La Consejería de Educación ofrece a los alumnos de 4º ESO y 2º de Bachillerato que estén cursando o hayan cursado el Programa habLE (anteriormente llamado Programa Bilingüe) la posibilidad de presentarse a las pruebas de certificación de idiomas de nivel B1 (4º ESO) y B2 (2º Bachillerato) en las Escuelas Oficiales de Idiomas en la convocatoria de septiembre de manera gratuita.

La inscripción se hara desde nuestro centro, IES Selgas, por lo que todos los que estéis interesados debéis comunicarlo a vuestro profesor/a de inglés.

THIRD TERM SPEAKING: A FREE PRESENTATION (2nd BACH A)

As we agreed in class, this term your SPEAKING TEST will be a rather open one. You must prepare a PRESENTATION about a topic you are keen on and then present it to the rest of the class. It could be anything: a past trip, a film or book you have enjoyed, a sport you do, a hobby... It should last between 5 and 10 minutes. 

When preparing it, make sure that you follow a logical order. The basic INTRODUCTION - BODY - CONCLUSION/ROUND-UP can be enough, but that will depend on the topic you choose...

Here you have the RUBRIC I will use to grade your presentation. Notice that the presentation itself will also be assessed. You can use any app (PowerPoint, Genially, Canva...), but check that you can show it in class. If you can't, all your work will have been pointless. Once you have it, you should upload it to the folder I have created in Teams: if you can see it there, we will be able to see it in class. 

2ND BACHILLER: SYMBALOO FOR UNIT 4

 If I think about music, the first image which comes to my mind is a cassette. Now they might be seen as some kind of "vintage stuff" but in the old times having a Sony walkman and some cassettes by your favourite bands was a dream come true: you could take your favourite music anywhere with you!!!

However, every dream has its hurdles and cassettes were not an exception. Anyway,  nothing that a pencil or a Bic ballpen could not solve!!!

 Talking about love and relationships I could not help posting this frame from the Hollywood classic "Casablanca", which is mentioned in unit 3.  Have you ever heard the expression "We'll always have Paris"? It is said at the end of the film and became a popular movie quote (although I'm not sure people your age know it). 

Now that the end of 2021 is near, it's time for New Year's resolutions! What about developing a good taste for classics watching 'Casablanca' during the holiday? Highly recommended!!!

 Do you really want to feel that your English is getting better and better? It is not difficult and it won't take long... Just spend between 30 and 40 minutes three days a week working on these resources and you will soon see results!!!!

LIFE IN LOCKDOWN

 It is not so often that people everywhere in the world see their lives changed at the same time and in the same way but that is precisely what happened in 2020, during the lockdown. And that's why we decided that it could be interesting to see how we coped with it and how we managed to find some good things even in that totally strange situation.

USEFUL PRACTICE OF IRREGULAR VERBS (ALL COURSES)

STUDYING IRREGULAR VERBS is probably one of the issues that causes more trouble. However, you shouldn't complain, verbal tenses in Spanish or French are much more difficult!

Here you have a game that allows you to practise the main verbal forms. You can use it to compete against your classmates and see who gets better results 😉!!

To be able to play, you must know all the verbal forms the game asks you to know:

INFINITIVE: the verb in the first column, for example EAT

SIMPLE PAST FORM: the verb in the second column = ATE

PAST PARTICIPLE: the verb in the third column = EATEN

PRESENT PARTICIPLE: the verb + ING = EATING

PRESENT HE/SHE/IT FORM:

the verb plus the famous third person "-s"  in the present simple tense  = EATS
