CELEBRATING HALLOWEEN 2017 AT IES SELGAS

Once again we have celebrated this typical festivity at school. This  year we organized different activities for all levels:

1st year students prepared some delicious recipes which they explained to their classmates before tasting them.
In the Biology class they learnt about pumpkin harvesting and  decorated some to turn them into animals.
In the Music class they played some active listening games, using the sounds of instruments.

2nd year students did some vocabulary games, played a jeopardy game in two teams and listened to the song from the film "Ghostbusters".
In the Music class they played a "trick or treat" board game.

3rd year students were offered some information about Halloween and then, they had to do a quiz, crosswords and watched Michael Jackson´s "Thriller" video.

4th year students read one of Edgar Allan Poe´s stories and had to design a comic.

1st Bachillerato students watched the video Thriller and enjoyed Michael Jackson's horrifying performance while learning some English.

2nd Bachillerato students brushed up their vast knowledge on this festivity by watching a short video. Then, they were ready to start competing in two teams, choosing an appropriate name for each first ("Haunted Hunters" was one of them 馃憤!). We started with some quizzes online, just to realize that they still don't know everything about Halloween (馃槣). For example, they learnt that "tootsie rolls" and "candy corn" are typical Halloween candies. They also had to define to their team mates some words related to this festivity. The competition was a tough one, but everybody got a sweet reward 馃構!

The teachers "treated" all the students with scary but tasty chocolates ,so that none of them would decide to play a trick on them 馃槈!!
