BRAINBOX ABOUT AVILÉS AND NIEMEYER CENTRE - INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECT 2ND ESO





After their trip to Avilés and Niemeyer Centre, students in 2nd year have prepared a set of BRAINBOX cards about the different places, monuments and interesting buildings they discovered during the visit.

4th ESO LEARNING SITUATION: A VIDEO OF A MYSTERY SCENE

After working with UNIT 3, which was about mysteries of all kinds, students were ready to write their own script for a mystery scene and then recorded it themselves. They could adapt one that already existed or create a new one, which is what most of them did.

UNIT 5: ENVIRONMENT (4th ESO)

 


The environment (and protecting it) is the main topic of this unit. We all have to take care of our planet and try to leave it in the best condition for future generations. Once again we will learn lots of English at the same time we learn many other useful things not only for us, but for the rest of the world.

Let's start revising some new vocabulary related to PROTECTING THE PLANET. You can use these activities to help you revise it:



In this unit, we learn that we can protect the environment with things we may take for granted, such as the quantity of clothes we buy. Watch this video to learn more about it:




The main grammar point of this unit is THE PASSIVE voice, which is used a lot in English. Here you have some practice:

To master the passive voice it will be essential that you master PAST PARTICIPLES and we all know that irregular verbs can be quite a nightmare. Why don't you try this fun practice? It includes the past simple forms too:

We listened to a radio programme in which a young girl talked about a beach clean-up. Did you know that some former students at IES Selgas carried out a beach clean-up? Watch this video to learn more about their amazing work!

We finished the unit learning to write a post for a blog. Since the topic of the unit is the environment, the post was about an environmentally friendly product. This video shows why we should be more concerned about using them:
