False friends both in real life and when studying English can really be a nightmare: you can never trust them! This language pill is about a funny one. If someone told you that he suffers from constipation, you may think that he is feeling unwell, has a running nose, a headache, a bad cough... the typical symptoms of a common "constipado".
WRONG!!
Watch this commercial to find out what its real meaning is.
You see that "constipation" is really a false friend, isn't it? So if you had the above-mentioned symptoms, you'd better say "I've got a cold!"
It can't be easy at all to advertise this kind of product and this commercial shows how bright some publicists are. The medicine is shown in a very elegant way. We think that the man with the Nordic accent is going to advertise furniture and then...WRONG again!! The STOOLS he refers to are different ones to the piece of furniture you sit on 😉!
That's the magic of advertising!
