LITERATURE AND CULTURE LESSONS ABOUT THE UK AND IRELAND

Last week, on Friday 6th October, all the students at the school (except those in 2nd bach who are really busy in their last year at school and cannot spare any time at all) attended different lessons that helped them learn English in a different (and much more fun!) way.

Thanks to Burlington Books, who brought Damien to our school, and for free 😉, students learnt about...

GHOSTS AND LEGENDS:

IRELAND:

ENGLISH LITERATURE:

BRITAIN:

Only two students chose to use the "calling my mum" lifeline. It was so much fun 😂: Damien called his mum and the students talked to her to find out what the correct answer was. They were so shocked!!!

Students really enjoyed the activity, so we are just looking forward to repeating again!

VALLE DE SAMUÑO MINING ECOMUSEUM

Last April, students in 3rd ESO visited the Valle de Samuño Mining Ecomuseum. This school trip had the main goal of making students aware of the importance of the mining industry in our region and how it has shaped its landscape and life in general for many years.

This was the starting point for one of the interdisciplinary projects the school is carrying out this school year. The English Department decided to make students reflect more on the contents of that visit by carrying out a questionnaire in FORMS (the students suggested the questions themselves) for all the participants.

Use the QR code below:

Elia Sánchez and Pilar Augusto of the 3rd ESO bilingual class looked into the questionnaire results and drew some interesting conclusions. Here's what they found out:

Other students were in charge of designing brochures or infographics about what they had learned. The idea was that they acted as mediators for English-speaking teenagers that might be interested in knowing more about this museum. These are their works:
